The markets after the early morning recovery are now consolidating at higher levels. The Sensex touched a high of 17,184, and is now up 107 points at 17,159.
The BSE Oil & Gas index has rallied 1.8% to 9,820, and the auto index is up nearly 1
The Asian markets have closed on a flat note. The Hang Seng added 0.7 points to 21,208, while Nikkei slipped three points to 10,563.

The Hang Seng has slipped 11 points to 21,197. The Nikkei is flat at 10,559, down nine points.
The Shanghai Composite Index is marginally down five points at 3,064.
Continuing its winning streak, the markets began the week on a positive note as global cues helped. The Sensex rallied to a high of 17,188 in early morning trades. The index, thereafter, consolidated and pared some gains before signing off 108 points high
Asian stocks were trading in a mixed range on Tuesday as investors slowed down their chase for riskier assets.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 was down 13.65 points or 0.13 per cent at 10,572.27. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was up 28.06 points or 0.13 per cent
